We live in crazy times where children go hungry, people are oppressed, and the lonely are abandoned - just like Jesus during these three days of Holy Week. Our call to justice is to stand with those who suffer now, and keep striving toward Sunday. Because SUNDAY IS COMING! 

We may worship God differently, but we all agree on one thing. God has called us to do justice in our world. 

Healthcare isn't about the rich or poor, it is about whether or not we want to take care of each other. 

In the coming days, we’ll be learning more about Governor Kasich’s proposed Ohio budget. And during that time, we’ll be asked to reflect on what the budget says about our priorities as a state.  

...And got to the 'meat of the issue' this Thanksgiving season. 

Too many Ohioans are struggling to find food for their table, and public efforts through unemployment compensation and Ohio's investments through the state budget can make a big difference for those who are food insecure.

This was a unique election, because it wasn’t about competing ideas over the same issue or competing views on the most important issues. Instead, this is an election about people who are afraid. 

Martin Luther stood up 499 years ago. Was his act Revolutionary? Not really, but extraordinary things can happen when we faithfully do ordinary acts of justice. 

It isn't about finding the perfect candidate, because all individuals are sinful and come up short. Instead it's about how do we work with all elected officials to promote right relationship among ourselves and with the world. God's work can occur through good government. 

Jeremiah encourages the community to be in right relationship with one another. Jeremiah calls out the community because their is enough balm for the poor, but they are not receiving it. 

As hunger rates decline, we must be cautious of complacency toward those who remain hungry. We must make sure that our elected officials and congregations continue to prioritize those who are hungry.
